What a difference a year makes

And just like that, we’ve been part of Publicis Groupe UK for a year already! I’m reflecting on that anniversary this week, and remembering my excited thoughts from a year ago.   

I can honestly say that all our hopes for our first year as part of Publicis Groupe, or the start of “OGs Third Chapter” as I call it, have been surpassed. 

We’ve learned so much and done things we always dreamt of doing.

From learning from our new colleagues at fellow agencies like Saatchi & Saatchi, Leo Burnett and Publicis.Poke who all do such inspiring jaw-dropping work.  They have all made us so welcome and it’s great to be part of a new bigger team.  

As I write this we’re squatting in the Publicis Sapient office in Farringdon, spending time with another sister agency learning all about business transformation, while our new home at Chancery Lane gets an OG-style facelift. 

The work we’ve done has been transformational. Getting to consult on some of PGs global mega brands and apply our B2B knowledge and expertise to some of the world’s biggest business challenges has been a true professional highlight.

Growing our company in size by over 30% is something that doesn’t happen every year, believe me I know!  Nor does adding 26 team members in 12 months and expanding our senior management team to set us up for the future.

Recognition for the company we are and the work we are doing. We were named one of the best places to work by campaign for the first time, a massive achievement and testament to our culture, and we added to the work trophy cabinet with ACI

Now we represent B2B in the biggest agency group, we spent some time showcasing what makes a B2B career so interesting in our Behind B2B Series. We even sponsored the inaugural Campaign/PR Week B2B Summit, where we talked to the wider industry about why B2B is so supercharged.

And we didn’t let a pandemic year go by without the OG fun. Getting drunk in a field again at our annual music festival, Roctostock, as well as spending far too many hours in the Publicis Groupe Pub, The Pregnant Man.  Career goal unlocked for many of us.  Have your own pub downstairs.  

So, much to reflect on in the last year and little time to draw breath as we’re already well into year 2 – it’s already a busy one!
